"A NEW BEGINNING ON A SURE FOUNDATION"

"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ"
1 Corinthians 3:11

"A New Beginning on a Sure Foundation" describes the vision and work of our congregation as we continue to develop plans for a building program and formally begin a Capital Funds Campaign for that purpose.  We continue with a vision of a new work that is built on the only foundation of the Church, that foundation being the Lord Jesus Christ.

As a congregation, we realize that we have ancient roots. In Ephesians 2:20, Paul spoke of the church as built "on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself being the chief cornerstone."  His description of the the apostles and prophets as being the foundation does not conflict with his statement in 1Corinthians saying that Christ is the only foundation.  Rather, the two verses together show that the instruction of the apostles and prophets given in Scripture is foundational to the Church. There is no conflict at all between Christ and Scripture. Christ is the Living Word. Scripture is the Written Word. One cannot be taken without the other.

Our congregation is a new work.  But it is a new work that is built on the one foundation of Jesus Christ with Scripture as our infallible and inerrant authority.  We proclaim Christ as the only Head of the Church and as the only Savior of sinners. We affirm Scripture as our infallible authority, apart from which the Church cannot be built.  We are grateful to be a part of the Presbyterian Church in America, a denomination founded in 1973 and one which holds us accountable to these standards while nurturing and facilitating a vision for a church that is “faithful to the Scriptures, true to the reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission.”

We are excited about plans for a multi-purpose building located on New Covenant's twenty acre site on Enterprise Road.  Our desire for this project is for it to be a testimony of God's faithfulness as we plan for today and for future generations. We are committed to our building program as a means of furthering the kingdom of God.

Preliminary site work began July 1, 2011. A plan of construction was approved by the congregation on Sunday, October 24.  Construction began with site work on November 9, 2011. Construction should be finished in November.

We are truly excited about this new beginning on an old foundation.  Join us!
